To be a light on the hill, helping people to seek, serve and follow Christ.

Social English Group

The Social English group was established in 2001 to provide a welcoming environment for newer kiwis to make friends, practice speaking English and learn about life in New Zealand.

The group meets in the church dining room between 1.00 and 2.30 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month during school terms. We also invite families of the group to join some of our chuch folk at a shared lunch one Sunday during each term.

Enquiries to the church office on 06 877 4191.

End of Year Luncheon

Inernational Church Service

An international church service was held on the 26th June 2011 celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Social English group. Over these years we have offered friendship and help with English to people from 25 different nations. Group representation from 10 of those countries - some in national costume - carried flags through the church and five of the current learners told the congregation about themselves. A 'slap up' Kiwi morning tea followed the singing of New Zealand's national anthem in English and Maori.
